Black Alistar: How Rare Is It and Can You Still Get It?

Black Alistar is often called the rarest skin in League of Legends. It came with the Digital Collector’s Edition pre-order in 2009, before the game launched. In 2026, Riot added a separate skin called Black Alistar Modern.

How players got Black Alistar

Black Alistar arrived on June 13, 2009, for players who pre-ordered the Digital Collector’s Edition. Few people paid for a free-to-play game before launch, which is why so few have it.

Can you still get Black Alistar?

Not the original. Black Alistar Modern is the version you can get today. It comes with the in-game Classic Welcome Bundle, and with the League of Legends Classic Collector’s Box, a limited pre-order on Riot’s merch store for $89.99 or €89.99.

Don’t confuse either one with Blackfrost Alistar, a regular 1,350 RP skin from 2020.

How rare is Black Alistar?

We checked the skin shards on 120,000+ level 30+ accounts, and Black Alistar never appeared once. Along with Silver Kayle and Young Ryze, it’s one of the original Collector’s Edition skins. See our full list of the rarest LoL skins.
